Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine - A Tribute to Bob Saget

November 8, 2023 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City

2023 Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine, a Tribute to Bob Saget, raises $1.2 Million for Scleroderma Research!

A Special Evening to Remember Bob Saget

On November 8th, we presented our annual Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine, a tribute to Bob Saget, raising more than $1.2M for research as part of the 19th Annual New York Comedy Festival. Thanks to everyone in the room, and to all those who supported the event from afar, all funds will directly support the most promising scleroderma research so we can one day achieve Bob’s dream of ending this disease.

We cannot say thank you enough to all the incredibly generous donors and to some of the world’s most talented performers who generously donated their time. Host Jeff Ross kicked off the event, performing a special set before welcoming Ronny Chieng, who took the stage in a surprise performance. Next, Nikki Glaser and Michael Che both took to the stage, each delivering a side-splitting set. To close the evening, musicians Adam Duritz and David Immerglück of the Counting Crows gave an intimate performance, including a rendition of their hit song “A Long December” —a favorite of Bob’s.

And the first-ever Bob Saget Legacy Award went to Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of Carolines and the New York Comedy Festival. Caroline was a dear friend of Bob Saget and had a long and generous history of helping him to raise funds and awareness for scleroderma research. Her support over the past 30 years was one of the reasons so many legendary comedians continued to donate their time and talents to perform at CCHC. This award recognizes those who, like her, follow in Bob’s footsteps to shine a spotlight on scleroderma and raise funds for a cure.

Thank you for celebrating Bob’s 30 year legacy leading Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine by sharing love, laughter and incredible food… all to help find a cure for scleroderma.

With Deep Gratitude to All Involved

The History and Impact of CCHC

Since its inception in 1987, Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine (CCHC) has become the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s (SRF’s) signature fundraising event, raising more than $29 million to fund the most promising scleroderma research.

Hosted for many years by SRF Board Members Bob Saget and Susan Feniger, some of the world’s greatest comedians and performing artists donated their time and talents to support the SRF’s innovative research programs and help raise awareness about this rare autoimmune disease. Though devastated by the loss of Bob Saget in 2022, the SRF, in collaboration with his family and friends, will continue this event in the hopes of achieving Bob’s dream of ending scleroderma.

All funds raised directly support our research and patient education programs. The SRF is singularly focused on finding a cure, which is why we’ve invested more money in scleroderma research than any other nonprofit on earth.
